He uses AutoCAD, Excel, Pathfinder (GPS), and MS Word software as tools to complete project tasks. He is experienced using GPS and land-surveying equipment to help develop project-site plans and permit/construction plan drawings.

Selected Project Development and Management Experience

Palm Beach County (PBC) Department of Environmental Resources Management (ERM), Project Designer II (12 years)
Contributed to engineering/design plan-set development for projects that restored native South Florida habitat to a more historic condition. Contributing activities include: site-plan layout, hydrologic-restoration project design, public-use facilities design, creating (AutoCAD) construction/permit plans for mentioned project-types, and construction-phase oversight and inspection.

Contributed to developing natural area restoration-project permit applications, and monitoring reports, to federal, state and local regulatory agencies. Obtained local and state-level building permits for public use facilities construction on PBC/ERM managed natural areas.

PBC/ERM projects involved with:
  • "Unit 11" (now Sweetbay Natural Area) Restoration Project.
  • Winding Waters Natural Area Wetland Restoration Project (managed AutoCAD file of over 10 years of project development/permitting).
  • Apple Custard Slough Restoration Project, PBC/John Prince Park,
  • Lake Ida Environmental Enhancement Project, PBC/Lake Ida Park.
  • Frenchman's Forest Natural Area Environmental Restoration and Public Use Facilities project.
  • S. Loxahatchee Slough Natural Area Wetland Restoration Project.
  • Yamato Scrub Natural Area Wetland Restoration and Public Use Facilities Project.
  • Since 1994, many similar projects on PBC-Managed Natural Areas.
Experienced in management of environmentally-sensitive lands (PBC) as part of PBC/ERM's 30,000-acre Natural Areas' Program. Activities included wildlife monitoring, vegetation monitoring, hydrological monitoring, contributing to management plan development for individual natural areas, and writing permit-required monitoring reports for regulatory agencies.

Prior to natural-area related duties with Palm Beach County ERM:

PBC/ERM - Inspected pollutant storage tanks for compliance with Florida-state code.

Inspecting food processors, food outlets, and food service establishments for compliance with Florida state codes (PBC Health Department)
